I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Mayfield Lab at The Ecology Centre at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. I am originally from California, but relocated to Australia in 2011 to research the formation of novel plant communities in the biodiverse Southwest Floristic Region of Western Australia.
I use a variety of experimental and analytical approaches to answer pressing questions at the interface of community ecology and global change ecology. I am especially interested in how global change drivers, particularly biological invasions and land-use change, interact and accelerate the formation of novel ecosystems. While these processes are interesting from a fundamental ecological perspective, they also present a significant challenge for conservation, land management, and ecological restoration.
